Raiders general manager Reggie McKenzie remains patient with the Aldon Smith situation.

While a report surfaced Sunday that Smith will be reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, McKenzie is still in a holding pattern in regard to the suspended Raiders linebacker.

Hes still on the suspension list and that will be revisited in March by Commissioner Goodell. Were still waiting until he signs off on it, McKenzie told 95.7 The Games J.T. The Brick on Thursday. We wont count on him until hes able to get off that list and be available to us. Thats a decision thats going to be made at that point. Well welcome him if, and when, that happens.

Smith missed the last 23 Raiders games since being suspended from the NFL in November 2015 for several violations of the leagues substance abuse policy. He was eligible to be reinstated in November, but the NFL and Goodell declined to do so.
